Trapline Trail Maintenance

TTC are committed to helping Citizens live a traditional lifestyle, the TTC Trapline Trail Maintenance program is part of the TTC Game Guardian Program. This service is intended to help enable Citizens to make full use of their traplines on Teslin Tlingit Traditional Territory.

The TTC Game Guardians can be made available to trappers to assist them in opening up and/or improving trails into their traplines. This type of work can consist of; clearing and/or brushing existing trail, cutting new trail into trapping areas and breaking trail by snow machine. This program is also designed to encourage new trappers and to encourage trappers who have not been out on the land in a long time to get out use of their traplines.

In-order to qualify for this program the trapper must be a TTC beneficiary and hold a trapline that is within TTC Traditional Territory. For more information see Trapping. To arrange for Game Guardian assistance, Citizens can contact the Department of Lands & Resources at 867.390.2532 ext. 377.
