The
Teslin Regional Land Use Planning Commission appointed to a
three year term in August 2001, was a public body mandated under
chapter 11 of the Teslin Tlingit Council Final Agreement. It was
to develop and recommend a regional land use plan to the
governments of Yukon, Canada and the Teslin Tlingit Council. The
Commission is currently on hold, waiting for new appointments.
When it resumes it will continue its work on recommending how
the land will be used and protected, how potential land use
conflicts will be resolved and how governments will manage the
natural resources for
for the benefit of present and future generations.
The land use planning process applies to the entirety of the Teslin Tlingit Traditional Territory in the Yukon.
